PROBLEM

Lack of an effective navigation tool for newcomers traveling in the TTC

With a high influx of immigrants, Toronto faces a significant transportation challenge. Most newcomers lack the financial resources to afford private transport and rely on Toronto's public transit system, TTC. However, navigating the system can be daunting, leading to situations where newcomers board the wrong transit or head toward the wrong platform. While various navigation applications exist, there remains a significant gap for an effective navigation tool not only outside the stations but also internally. In this project, I aim to bridge this gap by creating a user-friendly and efficient navigation application tailored towards newcomers to help them easily navigate Toronto's public transit system.

HYPOTHESIS VALIDATION

66.7% of Newcomers believe Navigation Issue in TTC is Worth Solving

To validate the hypothesis, I employed a two-research approach. Firstly, I conducted secondary research to gather existing knowledge on the subject matter. Additionally, I carried out a survey among a sample of 15 individuals within the target user group to obtain valuable feedback.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

How might we provide directional guidance and improve newcomer's commute in TTC convenient and less anxious?
